  • 1 cup flax seeds, floor (or simply use pre-ground)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats, floor into flour
  • 1/4 cup Sucanat (or different dry sweetener like white sugar), or extra to style
  • 1 cup mashed banana (~2 lg.bananas)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (I used almonds)
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut, for rolling

  1. In a blender or spice grinder, grind the flax seeds and rolled oats right into a flour like consistency. Alternatively you need to use 1 cup floor flax in case you shouldn’t have complete flax seeds. Add the bottom flax & oat combination together with the cocoa powder and Sucanat (or dry sweetener) to a big bowl. Regulate sweetener to style.
  2. In a smaller bowl, mash the bananas with a fork till clean. Scoop the banana onto the flax/oat flour and mix effectively with a fork or spoon. This course of will take a number of minutes to mix completely.
  3. With barely moist palms, form balls and roll in shredded coconut. Place balls on a parchment lined plate and freeze for 30-60 minutes. If freezing for longer, enable to sit down on the counter for five minutes or so to de-thaw barely.

I favor to roll them in sweetened coconut as a result of the flax balls aren’t very candy and it offers them a pleasant pop of sweetness on the tongue, nonetheless unsweetened coconut works too.

The chopped almonds give them slightly crunch too and the cup of flax lends an earthy, nutty flavour with a touch of sweetness. You understand what else I really like about them? They pack in a ton of wholesome Omega oils that support in glowing pores and skin, hair, and nails. Therefore the title, Glowballs. 🙂
